Tutorial: Create Rays in Photoshop
You have seen them everywhere. Vector or vector-like rays are currently a staple across design mediums, appearing consistently in print, web, and television advertising. Here we apply a stealthy ninja technique to quickly knock out some photoshop rays. This technique produces great quick results, however it should be noted that sharper edges can be created through other techniques using vector shapes.

A Favor House Atlantic
For those of you Coheed and Cambria fans out there. A couple friends of mine did an animation for this Favor House Atlantic video. This would have been the actual music video had not Sony decided to go with live action instead. Its amazing how they combined flash, after effects and 3d elements to create this really cool media.
BlueYonder Photoshop Tutorial
Sometimes, as designers we get too caught up into creating these whizzbang over the top effects, and forget that good design does not always have to have flurls, swirls, and crazy glow ribbons. Ray has put together a tutorial on how to create a magnifying glass effect in Photoshop. It’s a pretty good insight into how these simple, but effective techniques are used in creating design elements.
